Frequently Asked Questions & Answers
Why should we work with Control Plastics’ Manufacturers Reps?
All our Sales Engineers have extensive knowledge and experience helping customers with part design, tooling design, processing, qualification and quality control, assembly—and more. They have long histories of helping customers with material selection, manufacturing process selection, finishing processes, and assembly. Our philosophy is to take accomplished engineers and teach them sales.
Our Sales Engineers help customers through development, into Prototype, then low production, up through high production and final assembly.
AS not all of this is done in the same factory—Our sales engineers help coordinate all of the factories, and make sure all technical knowledge learned on each project is available for the sequential factories that can be involved. So even if your project graduates from requiring an ISO 9001 facility to requiring an ISO 13485 facility, none of the tribal knowledge will be lost during that process.
We have also very long standing relationships with all of our vendors. So if something needs expedited or moved to the top of the priority list, we know exactly what knobs to turn to make that happen.
What processes do you do?
Although we supply products from almost all metal and plastic processes, our predominant processes are Injection molding (all variations and sizes), and Aluminum and zinc die castings and finishing (of all sorts). We actually have almost 50,000 sq foot of clean room powder coating shop complete with robotic spraying equipment.
See our brochure below, you can also download a pdf by clicking Download Brochure in the upper right corner.
What materials do you work with?
Plastics—ALL thermoplastics (neat and filled)—we can process everything from PP to glass filled implant grade PEEK. We do many custom blends and alloys for our customers exacting material requirements using our network of compounders. We do not have a list of “stocked” grades. We can source anything available, across the globe, for your project. You don’t need to design your parts around what we offer, we customize our service based on the design of your parts.
Plus - Silicones (LIM and Compression), and rubbers ( Compression).
Metals - for castings - Aluminum, Zinc, ferrous metals, Titanium, CCM, maraging steels, and more.
There are pdf's for materials on our Resources Page.

Where are your factories?
Depending upon process and part sizes, we have factories in Taiwan, USA, and China.
How is working with Control Plastics and metals different from working with “Brokers”
We view our vendors and clients as lifelong partners. We are there to ensure all of your needs are met.
You are placing PO’s and paying the actual facility doing the work. There is not a broker or distributor in the middle.
We are there to supplement/augment the factory technical staff. We have the view of integrating many different parts/components from different materials and processes (and often assembling them) for customers.
My product concept is not yet complete. Can Control Plastics help me?
We work from 3 D data bases and 2 D control drawings. We help complete designs by doing detailed DFM's (Design for Manufacturing reviews), once we start a program.
We are happy to refer product designers, industrial designers, mechanical designers from the ones we have worked with. Just need to know some more information about what you need..

If it is not something we usually get involved with we are happy to refer you to others we have worked with over the years. You do need a complete product to sell.
